Bear in mind you pay a fixed fee per year for the service for 3 years (I've had a few a number of years back). Buyer beware, great garmin product but locked into contract scenario.
It is available monthly, with no ongoing commitment. So, when I go away, I turn the payment on (£14.99) and off when I return. The two months I use it ends up at thirty quid, which is worth it, having others know where you are and ensuring you are in constant contact. Sorry for hijacking OP.
