I've been doing some research before buying and it seems that some are having issues with the cradle connectors. Has any of you on here with an XT have this issue? https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=816
I have been using those connectors on Garmin for several years, I had the same thing happen to my 390 lead, but after seven years of use, now using XT with no issues. So that one issue in 7 years is not a disaster in my book.
There was a recall from Garmin to address this issue, end of 2020 IIRC, and they sent out replacement mounts FOC. Might be worth checking your serial number with Garmin to see if yours is one of the affected units.
I had a Zumo XT cradle connector fail - one of the sprung pins fell out. It was on a ride up to Scotland. I got a replacement cable sent to the the house I was staying in and fitted it the same day.
The new cable has a couple of small rubber lines which either seal it better or stop it losing the connection possibly. I don’t know if this also made changes to the pins. This was the thread I commented about it on https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/new-satnav.77235/page-8#post-1721165
Maybe an idea to join this forum, lots of experience and knowledge on board https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/
