1200 DVT Gearing: Change Of Sprocket Size.

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Mobile Chicane, Aug 22, 2019.

  1. Has anyone changed the standard size of the front or rear sprocket to give more aceleration ?

I'm thinking one tooth less than stock on the front sprocket or 1-2 teeth more on the rear.

  2. +2 rear with 2 links extra chain. Common enough change

  3. I can vouch for +2 on the rear, its a must mod, in my opinion, just makes the bike so much smother and easier to ride around citys and towns, makes getting in to 6th easier as well!!

  4. A vote here for one less on the front, down to 15T. Allows smooth riding in 3rd in a 30mph zone, and even 40mph in 4th gear. I'm sure acceleration has also improved but my bumometer finds it hard to register the difference.

  5. I went up 2 at the back, better in most ways apart from more vibration on motorways when sitting in 6th at 80MPH

  6. Maybe daft question... but...
I'm assuming this doesn't alter the speedo reading ?!?!

  7. no affect on speedo
