748 Goodbye 748

  1. Well it's gone to its new home with an enthusiastic new owner who has promised to cherish it and not kill it on trackdays lol.
Had some great times with her, went to the IOM and did the Wales evo triangle onboard.
Broke down twice with minor niggles (oil pressure switch leaked oil through its centre and had to be bodged to get me home, easy fix) plus the gear change linkage fell off in Derbyshire and I couldn't find a nut and bolt so rode home in one gear.
Other than that I had no major problems and loved it for the noise and drama. Never had a bike that attracted so much positive response from strangers or parted traffic as easily when filtering.
My heart will miss it, my clutch hand maybe less so :)
    Fabulous bike.

  4. I've placed an order for a brand new Triumph Thruxton R. Had one in the week on test and it's superb. Complete change of scene obviously from a 748!
Just fancied a retro cafe racer look after having had sports bikes all my life.
1200cc and revs to 6k as opposed to starting to fly above 8k revs lol

  6. Enjoy, we all move when and if we think the time is right. It will be my time at some point, good luck.

  7. I'm pleased at how quickly it went as I have looked after it and the new owner had similar aspirations to keep it pristine.
The value is there for the right bikes I think. Good luck guys with your bikes, it's been a pleasure

  9. Yes, agree, no point pissing about over £250.

  10. And you got some nice stuff too........

  11. You'll get one that's right, perseverance and the right owner. Way too many stock type bikes ended up with people who run em on a budget and think a 60 quid oil service is enough plus belts once in a blue moon.
Loads of enthusiasts with nice bikes just a case of dropping on one now.

  12. Good, buy my exhaust then! :D
