Goodwood Festival Of Speed

  1. I'm thinking of traveling over to englandshire for next year's festival, anyone any advice, I'd be looking at the four days so looking at affordable accommodation and where is handy to travel from, are tickets available to pre order etc etc etc

  2. Thursday is the quietest day but they do not run a full schedule, for example it is only road bikes, race bikes do not run until Friday. Friday is a full schedule and the quietest because kids are still in school, Saturday is the busiest, then Sunday a little quieter.

2023 tickets are not yet released but you can sign up for alerts using the link below. You can buy a 4 day pass rather than individual day tickets. It is hard to see the track unless you are really tall so consider a grandstand ticket.

We stayed in the Chichester park hotel. It was a good location and not a bad hotel. Not sure how much it cost but worth a look. Anywhere in Chichester or nearby would be a good base.

There is also camping and glamping available in the grounds.

  3. It’s a pretty good event. I prefer the revival by a long shot personally.
    Far less commercial.

  4. Members get first dibs on tickets in November and a modest discount. Thursday is also free for members. LMK what you need and I will sort it for you.

  5. I got to the Festival of Speed most years, but I think one day is enough. It's a trek up the the rally stage, so you could maybe do 2 days and spend one of them getting up there - but I'd struggle to get more than 2 days out of it, and still be enjoying the experience. Your mileage may vary.

However, it is worth going, as you get amazing access to the cars and bikes. The bikes tend to be quieter as most people are there for the cars, and you just see people like John McGuiness stood around being ignored so can go up for a chat. I had a nice chat and selfie with Hicky this year (very friendly guy) and a good close up inspection of his TT winning race bike - amazing.

  7. 4 days is heavy. But it might work for you.

You could easily see it all in a day or two
