Off on tour. Have a Garmin, that I use in the car, and want to add to the bike. I have a spare line that comes off the battery. Can I just cut down an old cable, with a mini usb plug on it, and attach to plug that will fit in my battery connection? What about getting the polarity wrong will this bugger up the Garmin. Car units tend to run off 5 to 5.5v. You may have to fit one of these for it to work 3M power cable mini usb output Converter Buck Module 8-22V to 5V,12V to 5V | eBay
