Customer ran out of coffee yesterday, said don't worry I'll run up the shop. Grabbed his lid and gloves, stabbed the starter on his bmw s1000rr and was gone......my old crate would of stalled 9 times and still not been warmed up till well after we'd finished our coffees. Spent last night Googling bmw m1000r bikes, working out if I could get a straight swop for the 916 !
Mate had 4 1000r final one being the M1000r, fully loaded lovely bike. Just too heavy and powerful for most of the Welsh roads we rode. It was his final bike, doesn't ride any longer.
To be honest I'd be better off with a cheaper middle weight adventure/sports tourer and keep sps till I'm tooooo old.
Great bikes, dead easy to ride and pull like a train in all gears! Borrowed one to go the NW200. Couldn’t stop playing with the anti stall set up… witchcraft I tell thee…
His preference for riding was either a Triumph Street Triple or a KTM 790, but for posing on the BMW won out every time. His second favourite was his Hypermotard think it was the model before the 950, too old to be riding anything other than flat barred bikes as when I do ride they're all day affairs not suited to sports bikes for me.
