Another newby from the Netherlands says Hello! I passed my driving test 6 weeks ago and have been renting and test-driving a lot of different bikes since. (ao Monster 797, Duke 790, R NineT, Brutale 800, Triumph ST, Moto Guzzi V9) Really like the look of the MV Agusta Brutale/Dragster, but I like the sound of two cilinders better. By now I am pretty certain my first bike is going to be a Monster 821 with quick shift. Ducati has always had an appeal to me and I am glad driving it just emphasized this. (I think my wife had no doubt from the start it was going to be a Ducati, but I have really tried to keep different options open) Bad weather is coming, so I will wait till late February to purchase. I still have some hopes tomorrow with the 2019 premiere a Monster 939 will be introduced. But my dealer told me this is not going to happen. Hope to get some info here for my upcoming Ducati Greetings from Holland, Harmen
I passed my test 24 days ago, been loving my yellow 821 for 23 days solid. That day waiting was HELL!!!! You are going to love it. What colour? Does it come in Dutch Orange? Don't get it unless you get the quick shifter, it makes a massive difference measured in Ffffuuunnnnn!
Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I plan to wait till March I like dark stealth best tried a Supersport with quick shift, so I know it makes a difference Not sure about the Termignoni however. I like a bit of character in a bike, but don't want to be a nuisance to others.
Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Have been breaking my head over the Multistrada. It's the only bike I haven't ridden that I would consider. I like the looks of the Monster better and don't think I'll be driving the freeway a lot. My ride to work is 10 km. Think I am going to start with a Monster and perhaps later on you get a chance to tell me you told me so.
Hello and welcome. You should try a Hypermotard. It turns the best behaved of us into complete hooligans.
Now I'm really in two minds. The new Monster 821 Stealth was introduced today. Adjustable front suspension is a nice upgrade. Don't think the livery is an improvement, perhaps is has to grow on me.
I don't feel I need adjustable front forks, so not missing them, and I don't like the paint job. I'm happy with my Yellow 821.
Should be red, red is the best colour looks good with your garabage/rubbish bins when you post your pics Welcome into our mad house
