Any one know a mobile GRP repair expert > working in Northamptonshire area I've just found out a tree surgeon has cut a tree down and it has gone through a trailer parked in my car park. He is trying to worm out of it, but it needs to be used in 4 weeks and it will obviously get worse with use. Repairing the hole is one thing it's the gel coat that concerns me and if it's not structurally sound it will just go bad again.
I'd of thought your best bet would be looking for a Marine repair company. Those little motor cruiser type boats must be shunted into jettys and pontoons all the time?
I did look into these NM as they have the skill required. The issue is the damage was so substantial and the trailers worth vs time etc.. I then went to a race car company who I deal with who also make GRP body work but they don't do repairs because quite often they can knock a new bit up from a mould less hassle and due to hourly rate will price them selves out of a repair job. Which I understand, if you make lots of new items and therefore lots of money in a day, why do 3 - 5 days work for the same money... I guess if you have a 500K+ boat a repair becomes more viable. Eitherway I found some guys in Essex that will do it, I hope they do a pucker job because they do more commercial type stuff. It is with them now.
