Why didn't we just try them at the time and then jail, or preferably, deport them? It still seems dodgy handing them over to the US with their record of Guantánamo. Thing is, until they are tried, they are innocent (although for Hamsa, given the amount of video evidence in the public domain, this seems very unlikely). their latest stunt is to admitt they are guilty and ask that they be allowed to forward evidence to the courts so that they can be tried in the uk harping on about innocent until proven guilty is a lost cause as they have admitted that there is a case or cases to answer why waste time and effort and expense on them, let the US deal with them because most people are sick to death of their antics and wasting millions of our money on futile court cases to keep them in this country and legal aid to assist this process
Is this whole crazy episode not another good reason to get out of Europe and the Human rights law? He cannot deny inciting hatred towards the western world, telling his followers to kill non Muslims, yet we, the British tax payer, have had to keep him in jail, feed him, provide someone to wipe his arse for him, all because we joined the human rights law. Where are the rights of those he wants to kill? As I've said here and elsewhere, if you don't like our country, respect our laws and even religion, then why the bloody hell did you come here? It seems he has broken laws in quite a few countries, all of whom want to put him on trial, so he bolted here and then tried to use one of our laws to protect himself! He's nothing but a bloody hypocrit! Let the yanks have him, let them try him, then let any other countries who want him, have their turn in the courts. I refer to my post in another thread And to add to that Islam (and Judaism for that matter - same peas from the same pods) is a medieval religion that has never and will never modernise. Ask a Muslim/Jew why they don't eat pork or shell fish and they can't tell you why. Or ask them why they clean their feet before they enter a mosque? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to think of the logical and rational reasons why.
Although I agree with most of what you say, there are some very nice Muslims, in fact there are probably more nice ones than obnoxious ones! It's always the same, the minority give the majority a bad name. A persons skin colour and religious beliefs do not make them unwelcome here, only the minority, who want to totally change our way of life. There are loads of Muslims here, who are hard working, contribute their taxes, are a valuable member of their local community, and have adapted their beliefs to our way of life. They are, in my opinion, more than welcome to stay, and I wish they had more of a say towards their fellow immigrants, on how to adapt to life here.

Isnt the reason they have spent so long in jail because extradition has been fought? Not saying they shouldn't but for the kind of crimes they are accused of, and the agreement we have with the US, they would have gone years ago for their trials if not for the Euro courts etc
Quite correct Bradders, he's been using all possible legal arguments to avoid deportation, citing his "human rights" as to why he shouldn't be deported, so therefore, our laws, which he despises, are ok when it suits him! The guy is a complete hypocrite, he hates the western way of living, but uses our laws, to avoid prosecution for crimes he has, allegedly, committed. Buddhism is a way of life more than religion so they have no stick to hang on, especially if you take in to consideration that Buddhist monk are trained better in art of killing then most soldiers. That's the stock answer you get. But think about it..............back in the middle ages (and earlier) when the inhabitants of the middle east (and I'm including Jews in this) were roaming around the desert and they were hungry, what did they do? They'd kill a pig and roast it. And we all know what happens if you don't cook pork properly. You get sick. (same with shell fish). So seeing as they were falling ill then that "must have been a sign from God" that the pig (and shell fish) was bad and shouldn't be eaten. Now roll the centuries on and we now have better food hygiene and better cooking techniques. We know how to cook pork and we know how to cook shell fish. We no longer throw up and fall ill when we eat these foods. Surely God has made it better :wink: But they still hang there hat on what happened centuries ago! Incidentally did you know that Israel has a huge pig farming industry? They don't mind dealing in pork if there is a shekel to be made :smile:

Ps - the washing feet before going to a mosque goes back centuries too. Again these nomads, who'd been "on the road" (sandy deserts) for weeks and months, had really dirty feet/bodies. So when they entered a place of worship they would wash. It was the only wash they'd have for months. This was told to me by a Turkish Muslim and again that makes sense to me. But the fact they continue with the practice just confirms to me that it is a religion that has never moved on and will never move on. The Taliban and their extreme actions are testament to that.
