  1. Happy Birthday @Gimlet :birthdaycake:

If the forum is correct (unless it's an April fool), you hit the half century today. I hope you had a good one. :upyeah:

  2. Cheers Rob. :upyeah: Yes forum is correct. 50 today (I'm a world expert on April fool jokes. Heard every one). I'd sort of assumed being 50 was something that only happened to other people. Its a bit of a shock that its crept up on me. Still that's better than not getting there at all and I've still got all my own teeth and no fillings.

Not a bad day. Too showery to get out on the bike but it got a wash and polish and tomorrow as a belated birthday outing I'm riding across to Hartland Point for the Hartland Quay hill climb. Spectating only. But I may get the bug...
Its a fair trek. Put a new set of tyres on the SDR two weeks ago. Ridden it twice and the rear is halfway down already....:Greedy:

  13. Aw shucks . Cheers everyone.
Just got back from the hill climb at Hartland Point. Big rorty singles and the lovely whiff of two stroke smoke, Castrol R and bacon butties. Smashing. I want a supermoto now so I can have a go..

Yes Comfy, the SF is still with Uncle Louigi. Can't remember if I mentioned it but the rear shock rocker arm was chaffing the wiring loom which knocked out the front cylinder injector sensor so it was hosing raw fuel into the front pot with the result that it cracked the piston. Loom's been fixed but Rich is looking for a used piston but they're thin on the ground. A new one comes paired with a new barrel which will have to be machined to match the skimming done during the blue-printing so a lot of unnecessary extra expense if I have to go that way, but its starting to look like that's what will have to happen. At least it was the front cylinder which is easy.
Then its off to Moto Rapido to try and get a replacement tank out of Ducati. This ones grown longer...

  14. Im not late......Im early for next year.Happy 51.

  15. Yeah, you have mentioned the loom, I had a quick look at mine because of it. Do you think it had been moved when you had the engine work done originally?

You've not had much luck with the fighter @Gimlet . :(

  16. Shame... Saw an sf yesterday and thought of you/yours sitting at louigi's.... Yep... Supermotos are fun... Rode mine to work the other day to stretch its legs... Like riding a bicycle compared to a litre anything!

  17. Impossible to say. Its tight anyway and I removed the pillion pegs and the loom was in the way and the rear shock was replaced and the ride height altered so who knows. This is the only mechanical problem I've had really and that was down to an error by someone at some point, not really the bike's fault. Well, and the blown dash.. Forgot about that.
Its just that I've spent a lot of money on tuning work, then suspension, then a big service fell due with a new clutch required as well so that cost a fortune and it would be nice to just get on and ride it now. I am pissed off about the tank stretch but its not distorted, just a pain to get on and off. Moto Rapido say Ducati are still offering no quibble tank replacement on various models older than mine so maybe that can be dealt with. I'll reserve judgement for now.
