Has anyone bought a new S Touring since August 2012?

  1. Ducati have been including the Ducati branded Garmin GPS with the S Touring since August, I collected mine on 1st Sept and the dealer said Ducati have run out of GPS's for the time being.
Has anyone else encountered this situation?

  2. Hi Chainsaw,

Bought my Mutley at the beginning of August and the box and screen turned up a couple of weeks ago. No sign of the Sat Nav and my dealer says the same - they've run out! What's strange though is I bought my bike 3 days after the start of the promotion so they must have sold a heap load of Tourers in that time or maybe they just didn't have the Sat Navs to go with the promise in the first place?

Anyway, I have emailed Ducati UK to ask what the score is and when they hope to have the Sat Navs in but to date (and two emails later) I still haven't had a response....

  3. Just had a call from stealer to say they now have the Sat Nav and is ready to fit

  4. Nice one - still waiting for mine to show up and for Ducati UK to reply.....

Interested to know what you think of the Sat Nav though once you've got it fitted.

  5. Same here, new on the 1st, Top box & screen in 10 days, Ducati say the sat Nav was sent on the 14th, still no sign of it

  6. If it is the same as the Ducati branded Nuvi I bought a couple of years ago as an accessory, the Nav operations are OK (haven't got lost yet apart from once in Poland where a new motorway wasn't yet open to traffic but the Nav wasn't having any of it!), however you can't operate your mobile through it and if you want the speech prompts (I don't bother), it will only Bluetooth to certain types of receiver (non music).

Garmin support told me it didn't even have Bluetooth until I proved to them otherwise!

Overall for the money I paid (£400ish?), it wasn't good VFM and for £100 or so more, the newer designed, bigger
660 (?) unit or a Tom-Tom would be better IMHO?

Shot of the unit in this thread http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6/anyone-else-ferry-tomorrow-3370/#post38867

  7. Called in to see my dealer today and he's just as pi$$ed off as me about the lack of Sat Navs. I'm one of a few waiting for them to arrive in Northern Ireland and he's getting the stick for it. Got chatting and I mentioned the fact I might be looking for a better/more capable system so he offered to swap the Sat Nav for a Carbon End Can instead. :upyeah: Now, I had to pay the difference between the two (£150) but, as I'm looking to buy a full system anyway, I reckon I can recoup more money for the End Can than the Sat Nav? Please don't tell me I'm wrong!
