Hayden stays with Ducati for 2013

  1. Can't get excited about Hayden staying. He wont ever be a consistent podium sitter let alone race winner.

  2. I'm pleased Nicky's staying, I think he deserves the ride. Ok he probably won't win the championship but he's the best rider they've had post 990 bar Casey, and a great ambassador.
I can't make my mind up if I want VR to re-sign, I didn't want him in the first place but feel now he's started, maybe he should finish the project. If he does go back on a Yam I'll be hoping he fails....miserably. As much as I want Cal to get a works ride, is the under developed Ducati better than a customer Yamaha for his career?

  3. The Ducati has done its best to kill GP careers, look at Marco Melandri. Clearly an amazing rider (when not at Donnington), but he was at the back. All the time

  4. Personally I'd love to see both Nicky and Valentino stay, the demosedici is so far removed from what it was 2 years ago that any rider changes will no doubt hinder ducati's project further, consistency is the key now and with hopefully the additional input and hopefully euros that VAG can bring I'd hope some serious progress will be made.

  5. Fixed that for you!

  6. Now confirmed

  7. Well I for one think that's good news. He didn't deserve a P45. And on a human level seems like a really nice guy.

Plus his accent is almost as funny as Rossi's.

  8. Good news for Hayden if he resigns..he wont win anything. No disrespect to him, he's a far better rider than any of us will ever be, but he only won the world championship because Rossi didnt, and he's said so in interviews. If memory serves me correct he became World Champ without winning a single race...pretty special acheivement i guess.
I dont see him as a contender never mind a threat.

I hope Rossi doesnt re-sign with Ducati. The 2 yrs he's had with them have really cast a shadow over the most glorious career in motorsport. The bike is rubbish. Sure when Stoner was with Ducati they were flying, i think even Hayden could've won fair and square, but everyone else caught up.

I dont mind who Rossi signs with, probably back with Honda would be a nice way to complete the circle, and i hope he takes his 10th GP crown, because he deserves the win. Its a great and befitting way to end his career. He's been the greatest ambassador for the sport in years, a fantastic character, unlike the current sober automatons (crutchlow not withstanding) and a super competitor...a real champion...just look at his stats..
The Ducati isnt good enough for him. Period.

  9. He won at assen and laguna in 2006 when he won the title. He had 10 podiums out of 17 .

  10. oh yes sorry youre right. he won two races to become champion of the world..i think rossi won 5 or 6 races, and got 10 podiums out of the 14 races his finished.

  11. Perhaps, but he surely binned it in the last race, when he only had to finish 5th or something. You're not meant to fall off if you want to be world champion.

Over the season, Hayden won it. He was more consistent. What's wrong with that?

  12. What's wrong with that ? He had the audacity to beat the "golden boy", you should know by now that's just poor form !
