Does anyone else find that other road users especially car constantly flash you to say you've got full beam on or do my lights need adjusting ?
I get regularly flashed by cars just with the low beam. I do feel they need adjsuting though coz I worry about passing aircraft thinking there's a runway available . Andy
Yes. Mine were far too high when I got the bike. It was 2 1/2 years old and I suspect they had been like that from new.
I can't decide if they are too high or it's just the fact that they are very bright and people think its on full beam
I found exactly the same problem when I bought my 2012 Touring S. I took a look at the guideline information in the Owners Manual and found the beam was way above the height shown in the diagram below: Adjustment wasn't too difficult and it seems to have calmed oncoming drivers down completely. All the best, Mark H
On my 2013 MTS the headlights are fine when riding at a constant speed and the skyhook seems to keep the lights level. The few times I have been flashed have been when you twist the RH rubber thingy - in the right gear and at the right revs even skyhook cant keep it level!
Finally got round to adjusting the headlights on my 2012 Mutley Touring the other day as I was fed up being flashed by irate car drivers. The dipped beams were far too high but a few turns of the screws shown in the manual soon brought them down to an acceptable level. Unfortunately the main beams still light up the monkeys in the trees and didn't seem to be affected by the adjustment process. Is there any way of lowering the main beams??
