Heat shield screws

  1. Both my mate and I have now lost at least one of the three exhaust heat shield screws from our 1098's. We both have them stud locked in place. Anyone else lost theirs? How much are replacements? I have put some socket button head flange screws in for now as I imagine the Ducati parts are expensive.

  2. Are you talking about the large external shield, on the RHS? If so been there got the T Shirt lost quite a few.

I replaced mine with wider button type from Pro Bolt and not had any more problems. The Ducati fasteners are not expensive as I recall. I also replaced the fasteners on the small one with aero nuts.

  3. I lost all 3 and the heat shield itself after 30 miles! Replaced under warranty and now thread locked in place.

  4. I lost two on mine. £10 a piece from Ducati Manchester

  5. 772.1.088.2B x1 Bolt

    716.1.407.1A. X2 spacer

    852.1.072.1A. X2 Washer

Lost 1 bolt the first time I went out, now all
    locktited (sp) in.

  6. Thanks all. At ten quid each I will stick to stainless socket flange button heads methinks.

  7. Plenty of aftermarket screws and bolts available on ebay etc

  8. OUCH £10 a pop. I'm sure I paid nothing like that. Anyway as Matt said, lots of other better stuff out there.
