Hi there, have finally decided to get on and find a Ducati, I've promised myself one for a long time Have been riding twenty years or so and currently have a ZX10r which is lightly modified: brakes, rear shock, exhaust etc - the usual stuff. Imagine I'll keep the Ducati a while so want to find the right one, currently thinking used Panigale, 1198S or 1098R but probably leaning towards the older bikes. Could ride a Panigale at a dealer I suppose but i'm guessing the others will be more difficult. I'm a fair weather road rider, very occasional (and fairly steady) track day rider and enjoy a bit of tinkering and polishing. Appreciate any advice.
Hello and welcome! Best try to find a dealer who will let you test ride, then choose whichever gives you the best grin factor!
+1 but we're bias. The 1098R and 1198S are similar to each other in terms of power etc. The Panigale is a different beast. If you go older, go on condition and mileage etc, but as Big Thumpa said, the 1098s is all the bike you will ever need....in black of course
Out of the lot you mentioned I would go for 1098R... just because it is a bit more special and unique. Or 848 Evo and spend the rest on mods if I wanted something a bit more 'practical'.
I got a test drive on them all 1098/1198/1199 not tried a 1098r , but I reckon its the best bike because it aint got all the electronic gubbings that u don't really need traction control .Just u and the throttle Just my opinion ohh and red is the fastest hehe
