  1. IMG_1668.JPG IMG_1669.JPG IMG_1670.JPG hello i have found the aftermarket fairings i want .but can anyone point me to a good seller as i know there is very thin rubbish out there so many sellers this is the fairings i want .going to take off originals as mint fancy these. Hope someone knows a good seller thanks in advance

  2. I did exactly the opposite last winter... Had a set of aftermarket cheap fairings on the bike when I bought it and the originals came all boxed up having only seen 800 miles of road use before being removed and the aftermarket ones put on.

Although the aftermarket ones were the best quality I had seen on any bike they just didn't satisfy me with quality of fit and colour match etc... Also suffered warping from radiated heat by the exhausts (bottom of belly pan)...

So my advice would be, stick with your OEM ones and spend the money on getting some self healing PPF applied ;)

  3. Ive allways wanted race look fairings so going ahead just want to know as some fit much better than others

  4. I got mine from motofighter and they are a good fit. I just chose the design I wanted and the supplier was pot luck.

They are good for the price and I will probably replace them each season if they last that long on the track.

  5. Thank do you have there link sir

  6. Thanks sir are they thick pannels or very thin . Was the heat shields on .was they painted both sides

  7. I have red tank how was the color match

  8. The panels are thinner than OEM but not flimsy. The heat shields came as a separate item to be applied yourself but we didn't bother as they made the fit tight.
They are not painted both sides only with overspray.

The paint is a good enough match for me but depends how fussy you are.

  9. Are they not melting without heatshield

  10. Are they not melting without heatshield

  11. Just my own experience so take from it what you will.

Many years ago I had the sweetest of carbie blackbirds, akra, dynojet, k&n and then had the whole thing setup by mss on a rolling road, it was a porn rocket but it was in the titanium grey. A Q bike no doubt but it needed more so I sought out a bike paint sprayer and we came up with a Honda West paint job and when done was a very lovely and much admired bike.

However, a time came to sell as I was off overseas for quite a while and I was offered by a dealer the same as a standard bike. I have looked at replicating it since but a few things work on my mind. If it is just a fleeting fancy say one or two years then the chinese race rep panels would be ideal then sell them separately after, then put the originals back on at the time of sale.

If however I genuinely saw any bike as a many many many year bike, then I would source original panels and get them in the paint job I wanted. Time would be on my side, I could probably get them reasonably cheap by accepting slight scuff panels that would be sorted at paint time and they would be original quality and fit with the spare originals safely tucked away.

You will never get your money back through custom paint or tuning so make sure it is a spend you don't mind making

  12. Not yet! I had 3 days on track in Spain and there are no adverse signs. That doesn't mean it won't happen in the future though.

  13. Ive done my fare share of painting i know what your saying am keeping the originals tucked away use the china fairings for a few years then put originals back on this is not a race bike my road bike just fancy race look

  14. The thing with the chinese fairings is they are cheap and cheerful so it's no good expecting OEM quality.
I thought about another set of OEM for track use but couldn't really justify the cost.
If it's purely for a road bike then as Noobie says I would spend the additional for painted OEM.

  15. Thanks will get later am off my work with a bad hand just now but sommit to do soon

  16. Ive seen a few road bikes here with them and paint finish is good lads

  17. If i do 1500 miles a year am lucky am sure they can last and keep there shine a few year or am i wrong

  18. Hi Gary

We bought these off eBay about a year ago - took a bit of drilling and fiddling to fit took about 4 hours - to be honest they are cheaper Chinese fairings but fitted ok colour match was ok and as Jo is a Nicky fan (RIP)
It was about £400 inc tax and shipping or £1200 from Dream Machine - plus we have the originals tuck up in the loft
