Help Identifying Injectors Please

  1. My memory is telling me, 748R injectors had a green band and 848 injectors were purple. No idea what yellow is. Various markings, 2940/00, IWP 069, R78 ohms. Thanks in advance. Andy

  2. Okay, that was a bit easier than expected. Magneti Morelli and fits 749, 999, 996R and 998S. As I’ve never owned any of these bikes, odd how they have come into my possession. A revised question, can anyone recommend somewhere to get them checked and serviced ? Only found Mr Injector so far. Andy

  3. Andy, I posted a similar question a few months ago about the difference between red an green IW724 injectors which no one could answer. As far as I am aware the 2940/00 is more likely a batch number? As green and red IW724's have different numbers. The spec on impedance with IWP 069 seems a bit random, the spec I got just says high impedance. Flow rate is 491cc/min. You could check HD/ Guzzi or FIAT websites for more info.

  4. Stan Weiss' Electronic Fuel Injector Flow Data Table, sorry could not post a link. If you can find it.

  5. @Marcoduc, thank you for the information but the specification is now not my prime objective. The decision is, is it economical to have them checked for function and have them serviced if okay or just bin them. You can buy a new clones for around £45 so it has to cost a lot less than that to be viable. Andy

  6. Fair enough, I could not recommend your choice.

  7. I purchased new ones from Bike Sport Developments Ltd. For my 2012 848 Evo.

Also, I have heard good things about Mr injector for cleaning/calibrating.

I would always clean and calibrate as that is so much cheaper than new ones and I feel that a good shops recalibrated ones are equal to a new one.

I have had limited success with injector cleaning kits, but at the end of the day, a proper clean/re calibrate is good peace of mind for a really buggered injector.

  8. They are used on the 748R 2002 996R 998 998s , I’d keep them and get them cleaned I tried the clone ones on my 748R and 998 and they gave me nothing but trouble , never again

  9. I would not bin them, judging by the now used prices of older IW724's.
