999 Help Voltage Dropping

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Danny g, Jul 12, 2018.

  1. My bikes voltage is dropping even after a day. Replaced battery but still the same. Has anyone on here experienced this?

  2. Measure your current draw when the ignition is off - amp meter between battery ground terminal and ground cable. 2-10mA is pretty much normal.

  3. Check for a parasitic drain. Do this by connecting a meter set to read 200mA between the battery -ve and the ground connector. DO NOT switch the bike on. Any reading more than about 4 or 5mA indicates something is draining the battery. Usual cause is alarms or trackers. Tracker, I believe, draw a fair bit of current.

  4. Mine has a battery drain. It's got an LED rear light between the exhaust and seat, slight current draw but not enough to worry about. I've just stuck an Oxford Solariser on the battery and it makes a world of difference
