Hi Don’t currently own a Ducati I have a R nine T and a xv1700warrior which I’ve had for over 10 years The reason I’ve joined is I want to trade the R9T for a Diavel as I just can’t get them out of my head. I did test ride one before I bought the R9T but it didn’t go well and it put me off This is how it went : pulled off from Bericks in Southend got round the corner and the mirrors started to spin round so had to go back and get them to tighten then up they went out again and hit traffic in a 50 limit and then found it really didn’t like cruising along in a low gear fair enough though not that type of engine so drop it down a gear fine, filtering down canvey way over the white lines bdum bdum bdum bike loses power and cuts out only done 3miles so I pull over on to the hard shoulder and try to start it but no joy it has got fuel but not using it can here the fuel pump though so not sure and had to be recovered. Not a good start but I’m not dismayed and want to try again can any one tell me what to look for when looking for a good Diavel is it worth going for the second gen or is the first gen still a very good bike Is there any known facts n such Sorry I’m rambling Cheers ben.
Welcome and enjoy. Can't say about the Diavel as I don't own one, but I am sure someone who knows will be along shortly.
Welcome. Sounds like you test rode a Friday afternoon bike. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/new-diavel-1260-review.69081/
That what I was thinking Friday afternoon bike just unlucky to find it and that’s a good thread that sounds promising cheers
i had a gen 1 diavel when they first came out. great bikes and very capable. even did track days with mine
Welcome. I don't know Essex but I'd recommend trying a good independent who specialises in Ducati. And don't close your mind to other models but just see what's about and what does it for you.
Still have my 1st gen bike, it had a sensor go out a few years ago and the left front fork failed last weekend. Apart from that it;s been perfect, pretty good for a 9 year old bike. Going to keep it til it for another few years for sure.
