999 Home On A Low Loader------very Embarrassing

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by postmaster, Aug 16, 2016.

  1. especially since I live opposite the only pub in the village.
All thoughts of sneaking home were dashed,
much (good natured) jeering accompanied the offloading. Good job I'm not sensitive.
Anyway turns out the 40 amp fuse is blown. Iv done a lot of work in and around the battery box recently so I thought it could be something Ive done.
Cant find anything though ie no bare or melted wires. It is possible I shorted something while working on it in which case it might be ok with just a new fuse.
If I just stick a new one in and it blows am I looking at new r/r ?
Till I get new fuse I cant test r/r output. (assuming it doesn't blow immediately)
    Any thoughts most appreciated.

  2. Could be reg/rec melted mate that would cause 40 amp fuse to blow.

  4. as above plus if you are handy with a meter you can check battery standing voltage and at idle for starters.

  5. Will do. Just waiting for new fuses.
