Only ever raced it on one day.......too bl**dy long to get to know it quickly, particularly if developing Alzheimer's ( I mean, getting old)
Ill be going round and round that in a couple of months....mainly round and round the mountain section...cant wait - counting the days or, if I forget to count my mate (whose coming with me) will randomly txt me at no certain time the remaining days left to go...
4 days of emptying tanks of fuel, eating out of burger vans and takeaways....especially that pizza house at the end of the promenade just as it starts to go up the hill... Bliss. No kids, no wife, no work....and if I can get it in before we go, a fresh set of supercorsa's....
Enjoy. But be prepared to spend some time in Ramsey waiting for the mountain road to re-open after crashes.
Yeah - been there the last 4 years....I don't think a day went by without someone crashing (not always on a bike) somethings engine blowing or something running across the road (animal based)....
Tend to stock up with junk food in the petrol station in Ramsey, go round a couple of times and then sit at that big right hander watching people cane the arse off of whatever theyre driving....a perfect evening...
I have been going over for 50 years (since 1964) but these days I go to the Southern 100. Much quieter and not too many bikes out on the TT course. Anyone else going over in July?
