Done 5k on a new bike and 1 stone chip! coming up for a 12 month service but which date do i go off, from new or from 600 sevice?
About 5k on my new Multi and a further 2k on my k8 GSXR back end of last year. A bit down on what I was managing a couple of years back, just not enough time..
Had this clarified by Ducati UK 12 months from date of first registration, non ducati dealer that I bought my bike from told me otherwise when I bought my bike, hence bike now serviced twice less than 400 miles apart
Just over 7000 since march ,heading for my fourth back tyre and second front soon ohh that's a shit load of fuel stops on a bike with such a small tank
2185 on my Pani, but then the weather and being busy took me off the road for nearly 7 months. One set of new tyres, although that was down to a flint in the rear rather than totally worn out. Still unimpressive though considering I used to run around 7-9k a year when in the south.
Pal of mine had his Triumph T595 MOT'd last week and the bloke that did the MOT said if next time it didn't do more than the 60 miles it had done the previous year, he would fail it! He has had the bike from new (1997) and its done less than 5,000 miles, complete waste.
Had my Final Edition MOT'd in October 2011 @ 10853, erm, 17 months later May 2013 @ 11206. Just checked and it's now on 11300. It's now tucked away and sadly I've no interest in riding anymore, at least this year anyway.
I tend to do 6 - 8k a year I think, mostly summer stuff. Though last year I only managed 4700 with all that crappy weather
Only 1,500 but I have enjoyed every single one of them. My first year back on a bike since the early 1990's. I love my Diavel!
4800 since March. I hardly rode my GSXR at all last year with the weather then putting it up for sale. I always thought the time interval was between services, not based on when it was registered as new. I'd be checking that if it was me, but it should tell you in the service record - they write in the date or mileage that the next service is due. Surely if like me I am probably going to need a service at 6000 miles before the bike is 12 months old then that's going to be only a couple of months before the 12 months come up, there's no way it needs another service straight after the first main one just because it turns 1 year old. The gap is to do with when it was last serviced, not how old the bike is. Andy
Servicing is 7500 miles OR 12 months, whichever comes soonest. For example, my bike was registered in January 10. By the November covered 8k so was serviced. 12 months later serviced again. After registering if I'd only covered 2k the bike would have been due a service in jan 12.
Bought mine in June too, 1 year old with 900 miles on the clock (just before I went on holiday for 2 weeks mind) & I thought I'd well now that it's almost done 1800 miles! Use to do about 5-6k/year & own two bikes, got knocked off my 916, cut down to one bike & lost interest (partially down to poor health but now diagnosed). Traded in a 5 year old Speed Triple, that I bought new, with less than 5k on the clock for my 848. Have to say that owning a Ducati again after 13 years has given me something that I want to haul out of the garage & ride again.
