So was perusing on eBay looking for another purchase for the stable and come across a 748 only 15 mins down the road. Obviously you would want to view before purchase or bidding especially when it’s so local. Asked if I could view and this was my reply !! Obviously I was being unreasonable, lol
He's edited his advert telling you not to go round and annoy him but clearly you didn't listen..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-7...078740?hash=item2f1bb17994:g:w~YAAOSwru9bAUbi
He's an absolute cock dude....I might even use a fake account and bid a million, that'll learn him....
Didn't this auction end last week? Maybe someone backed out - presumably after going to his house, revving it up on his drive and picking holes in it?
I seem to remember this being up for sale a few weeks ago too. Would be terrible if someone was to bid and not go through with the sale even more so if people were to ask silly questions bombarding his in box
The bit that is confusing is this It was brought back home to the UK, by its then owner earlier in 2016, from Jersey. It had been registered as overseas. No import taxes were paid as far as I can see, maybe as it had been exported in 1999 none were due. That looks like it was new in the U.K. so charges would have been paid??? sent over to jersey in 1999 and then back to the U.K. in 2016. what would the duty and vat be then if it has already been paid in the U.K. when new?
My 1098R was the same. It was bought new in the UK from Pro-Twins and registered on a UK plate. It was then taken to Jersey for a number of years. I bought it from there. When I re-registered it back in the UK, I got the original number back on the bike. Even though the VAT had been paid when new, because it had been exported out of the EU and had been there for over 3 years, I had to pay it again on my purchase price, plus import duty. If I had bought it from an EU country, I would have been OK. When his advert says he couldn't be bothered to register the bike, this is probably why. You'll need a NOVA form to register it, and to get that, you have to prove VAT and duty has been paid. Then there is the registration fee. Mine did not need a Certificate of Conformity because it was originally a UK bike, but you may need one of these too.
Thanks for the info, I did wonder if the sticking point given the attitude of the seller was they might not have the paper work to show what has been paid and when. Sometimes I forget that the channel islands are not part of the U.K. or eu
