Hi, how does the serial number stamped on the lower side of the crank case correlate to the year of manufacture? So for example ZDM904A2C*030511* Year of manufacture must be between 1991 and 1998 so how does 030511 relate?
https://www.ducati.ms/threads/engine-numbers.139634/ ZDM904A2Cxxxxxx 900ss carb, m900 carb 030511 is Progressive production number (serial number), the next engine would be 030512
I'm not sure that you can easily. The ducati factory in Bologna will doubtless have records and be able to correlate when an engine number was issued (and to what bike and original frame etc.) I suspect they are just stamped in numerically ascending order over time.
