Just found this forum, looks good with plenty of info etc..... I've got a question.... I've got a hypermotard 939 which I'm contemplating swapping the standard can for the low akropovic can and link pipe. Akra state no fuelling or ecu changes required... Have any of you lads fit this can and run on the standard ecu map? If so, what results have you had? I'm informed from a dealer that the 939 (euro 4) doesn't allow flashes and upgrades. Any thoughts would be gratefully received. Cheers
My friend has low mount Akra and runs fine with no remap. I have low mount SC project and no remap and runs fine. You can get a rexxer map upload through some dealers which is basically the same as the Upmap you get supplied if you buy the stupid price Termignoni
Cheers for the answer. The akrapovic looks the way to go. I have been informed the rexxer upmap isn't available for the euro 4 ecu... I'm told the ecu basically defaults back to factory settings. How true that visit I don't know. But, if others experiences say it runs fine as standard with akrapovic and akrapovic state no fuelling changes needed then it's on the shopping list Cheers
Better go for mapping the ecu even before replacing the can. I got the full termi on mine, it does make a difference, but the biggest difference in throttle response and overall smoothness in lower revs is the upmap that came with the termi. Rexxer actually has a mapping for the 939. The only issue with the euro 4 is that the bike will not be euro 4 compliant after mapping it, so it might not be legal to drive it on public roads in some countries. It's not like the bike won't take the mapping.
Akropovic looks very tidy. I think that's the route I'll be going after Xmas. I've just ordered a load of bits from evotech, they've a 15% discount running at the minute and will waver postage if you're ordering quite a few bits, I've got tail tidy, rad guard, engine guard and oil cooler guard coming as one job lot.
Well, low level akrapovic and link pipe arrived this week. The bloody box weighs more than the can. Nice kit, big cash! Will run in on standard can then swap over to see what differences there are..... if it ever stops bloody raining/snowing
I put a gbr can on and what sweet sound!! No way could i afford akrapovic yet...yea fook the rain, glad i left new jersey for socal..
I dont like the low level cans on these, they don't look right to me. The high level systems suit the bike better IMO, exposes the rear wheel. Do they do a high level Akrapovic?
Shame that, the Akrapovic systems are top notch. I have one on the Superduke and as you say, that blueing looks amazing Are there any other high level titanium systems for the 939 SP
Just ordered the same can and link pipe for my 939. Certainly looks good, will take a month or so to arrive though. Bike is in Thailand and no stock. Not cheap, but not to worry. Thanks for the photos.
I didn’t like the holder on the Akrapovic Exhaust. So I created our own Akrapovic Exhausts Edition for the Hypermotard’s from me and my wife. Here some pics from the building. (Sorry for my bad english, I try my best)
