Hypermotard 821 Rattling Sound Near Vertical Timing Belt Area

  1. Hi. Recently, I've discovered this rattling sound in the timing belt area of my bike. You have to ride the bike for a few laps then on idling there's this rattling sound. It doesn't seem to be affected when you rev the engine. It's just there. What could it be? Had it brought to the dealer, they just loosen the belt by one notch. And it's still there.

  2. Many things possible of course, and if you are happy it's nothing to do with the belt drive and tensioners then before taking the head off (!) it's worth taking the rocker covers off and checking that none of the rocker springs are broken. Have you checked both compressions out of interest/have you got excessive smoke from the exhaust/ does vertical spark plug look okay ?

  3. Everything seems to be ok. No smoke on the exhausts. I left my bike with the dealer and I'm just letting them figure out what's the cause of the annoying sound
