1200 DVT I Hate Rattles!

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Wraggy, Dec 9, 2015.

  1. My MS 1200s is 6 weeks old. I like it. A lot. However, it doesn't half rattle! I'm convinced it's the black plastic panels between the tank and handle bars. One solution is to ride fast and then I can't hear it :) Unfortunately I can't do this around town, so I'm wondering if anyone else has suffered the same problem and if so, how did you fix it? (Please don't suggest lot's of Blutack...I've tried that)
When it goes in for it's next service, I'll have them take a look, but since i live in Spain, they'll probably;y look at me and shrug.

  5. Did you ever own a ducati 900ss !! must have been yours because the owner had stuck pieces of cardboard between the fairing to stop the rattles.

  6. I have a roll of felt tape in my toolbox (it's pretty cheap on ebay), I keep meaning to have a go at the screen mechanism and get some of that in there somehow.

It worked a treat on the boot trim in my car, 13 years old and just 1 rattle, it's neither French or Italian...

  7. Mines developed a rattle in this trip that I thought was a loose bash plate. Turns out it's not.

Center stand doesn't seem loose either. It's kinda difficult to poke around down there when riding! Anybody got any ideas what it could be down there at the bottom of the engine?
