I have my problem riddled Multi back

  1. Picked up my Multi earlier this morn from the dealers , In addition to the comments on the phone last week that there was a glitch of some sort in the charging system they went on to announce that they have replaced the side stand cut out switch which was causing my engine to cut out , Well that does make sense to me so heres hoping and fingers crossed , They also have disconnected my flapper valve as they noticed it was starting too sieze up again ,or rather the actuating cable was this time, ( I hadnt noticed any prob as it happens ) Well they already replaced the unit 2 months ago and more or less said it was because id ridden the bike on salted roads!, yet here we are again 2 summer months later and its playing up yet again , Anyway I dont give a rats arse about the flapper valve to be honest I am sure I can live without it , Ive ridden it about 24 miles this morn and the motor feels different now the flapper valve is disconnected , not worse or better , just different .... , possibly a bit smoother and less surging especially whern cold
Hoping I will be trouble free now but rest assured I will be posting anything and everything that plays up on this bike , I will also post the good stuff and start some more experiments soon !

  2. Hope its finally sorted Dave and you can enjoy trouble free motoring. Still in the honeymoon period with mine, hopefully the magic will last!

  3. Dave, Fingers crossed for you matey!

  4. Dave hope all is ok now! Consider yourself lucky that they have disconnected the exhaust valve....stupid thing!

  5. Dave, congratulations on a week without any problems

  6. Good news Dave. I've been watching this with interest especially as I have pressed the 'buy' button on a new Multistrada1200S sport. Should be arriving next Monday. I'm Happy/sad because I'm waving goodbye to my beloved ST4S at the same time.

  7. Hi mate ... The cutting out prob seems to be cured now after a new side stand cut out switch was fitted , the bike is in Riders as we speak having the mysterious battery discharging looked at , hopefully now the probs are being whittled away one by one , I havent been active on here recently as I have now shifted back to my home in Somerset and not yet restored internet access
I hope all goes well with your new bike they are a lovely bike to ride , cant fault it at all , I,ll be riding up too Cumbria tomorrow on mine come rain or shine hopefully with restored confidence and the probs behind me

  8. Hi Chainsaw , I recently moved the Multi from southern Scotland to my home in Somerset in the back of a van , I didnt have any probs with the bike at all !
Seriously though I think most of my probs have been whittled away now , just got the mysterious battery discharging prob which is being attended to by Riders as we speak , Wishing you well

  9. I think your curse maybe lifted now Dave :)

  10. Just needed looking after better, it's bound to a happier bike in Somerset rather than Scotland, I would break down if anyone tried to make me live so far north.
