Imports From Switzerland

  1. Anyone imported an exhaust from Switzerland ? I need the code to challenge the import duty. Hmrc want another £110 from me. To challenge it you need the duty code applicable to the specific item, to get that you can no longer just phone and get it you have to email, await a response then contact hmrc who will not talk to you without the code.
So if you have the code can you let me know? Or if you failed to get the duty over turned let me know. I can then suck it up and fork out another £110.

  2. @gliddofglood is swiss or lives there. He may be of assistance.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. Cheers Boots, was wondering if he had encountered this. The crazy thing is that whilst not in the eu they are part of a European treaty, will see.

  4. So spoken to HMRC and I do have to pay import duty, VAT and processing charge of £101.24. All imports from Switzerland unless sent as a gift need to pay these charges. Not v happy but what can you do. Tbh HMRC were actually v helpful and tried to get the duty taken off, but didn't manage it but I can appeal.
Thanks for all your help and messages of advice guys.

As it's coming from outside the EU I guess that's got a lot to do with the need to pay. Vote UKIP to end this madness.....oh
