Got a brand new V4 PP on 3 March and it has a weird intermittent fault .. or I am going mad? When I indicate right if the bike is stationary all is fine. If I do it when riding, 50% if the time the right indicator doesn’t work. Any (sensible) ideas?
Hmm yes tried that but still the same. The dealership is saying they can’t replicate it. I’ve had 4 MTS’s now and never had a problem operating the indicators but now i have, and apparently it’s me not operating it correctly. What’s there to do wrong. I realise the switch has moved slightly for the joystick placement but I’m still sliding the indicator switch the same as I always did. Weird.
I drive a BMW. What are these indicators you speak of? Are you sure you’re not hitting the menu toggle button instead, as I kept doing that at first? It’s in a bit of a daft place, pretty much where the indicator switch usually is.
That’s bizarre, I had exactly the same issue when I 1st got my V4PP, my 3rd Multi, dealer had a look and couldn’t fault it, now it’s absolutely fine, so either it fixed its self, or I fixed myself when using right indicator Go figure..?
Not had that problem but it took a few weeks on the V4S for my thumb to automatically get the right switch first time.
Exactly the same as my 2022 v4s multi. I got the dealer to change the left hand switchgear under warranty ( even though they could not replicate it) I told them it was dangerous as it kept taking my focus of the road having to check that it had worked every time I used it. The new switchgear was marginally better but it still happened during rides. I thought it was something I was doing ??? Then for some reason I tried using the indicator switch “ gently/lightly” and now it works most of the time but still does it a couple of times during a days ride, but its much better than before. I also did a test and reverted back to my “normal pressure” of pushing the right indicator switch and it failed to activate , even after 3-4 pushes. So try gently pushing the switch and see how you go , you get used to it after a while As you say it’s weird a it’s only the right turn that is effected, the left works fine under any conditions. Incidentally, I have recently had intermittent problem with the cruise control switch not setting the speed , obviously it’s the same side switchgear so who knows ?? Other than that what an effin great bike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Latest update is that the dealer has managed to replicate the issue (I'm not going mad after all) and is going to talk to Ducati tech support tomorrow.
I’ve had this problem, but sometimes turning left too, for the last 18 months. One of the dealer’s mechanics took it for a test ride and came back saying nothing was wrong. However a managed to repeatedly replicate the issue in front of the service manager. He found a work around which is to press the cancel before each use…. Rubbish eh? But it works. He also told me that he’d report it to Ducati HQ. This was 18 months ago. I need to chase for a repair / replacement as I’ve really pissed off loads of drivers on when turning, or on roundabouts.
The dealer has asked that those of us who have had the problem raise the issue via the Ducati website 'service and maintenance/ contact us / complaints' Contact Dealer (ducati.com) as these get seen at the highest levels in Ducati UK and Bologna. I've done that and would appreciate you guys collaborating on this to get it raised and fixed. Its 'not currently a recognised problem' according to Ducati UK and this is the channel that gets noticed.
