This interesting rare piece of Ducati literature is entitled “Instructions for the dealers”. It was included in a white box inside the wooden crate of each Ducati 748/916/996 up to, and including, MY2001 along with the remainder bike’s literature. I’ve managed to source online a picture of a crated 996R that captures the white box (which also stored the mirrors). In each language shown on its cover, it deals in chapters with the following seven actions: (1) Uncrating the motorcycle; (2) Fitting the disassembled parts; (3) Fitting the rear-view mirrors; (4) Positioning the handlebars; (5) Position the front turn indicators; (6) Fitting the charged battery; (7) Refitting the battery. For obvious reasons, these booklets never ended up to the purchasers and were discarded by the dealers on the spot, without even being opened. Whilst I’ll be listing one for sale in the sales section very soon, it’s worth having a record of this in this main forum as it is indeed a part of the 916 legacy.
I'll take it. My original has light smudges and the last one I bought off eBay vanished in the post the moment it hit US customs I'll PM you.
