Insurance Specialist Advice

  1. I've tried to be honest when giving full details of my bike, as soon as I mention aftermarket Ohlins front and Back they don't want to know. Exhaust doesn't seem to be a problem as long as it gives no power gain ! I've not told them it has a bigger capacity, magnesium covers, different wheels, calipers, quick shifter etc etc.

Can anyone suggest an insurer who will quote me and which mods make the difference to the premium ? Or can you just give them a value ? Surely the only part they're interested in is the power gain ?

  3. Try these...........https://www.biketeam.co.uk/Default.aspx

Mine is as cheap as it will ever get................and they approve the modifications with no loading............If any of your parts were ever fitted on earlier or later models, tell them that the mods are 'standard parts replacing standard parts'..........they understand this.

  4. Try Ducati Insurance, they expect that sort of mod and has the tick box list to cover loads of different bits and bobs.

They where the cheapest for me last year and i declared everything and it only came to £120 a year :upyeah:

  5. Ducati insurance must have a weird demographic that they insure as they are consistently the highest for me by £500-600.

  6. Trouble is I'm with Carole Nash and Aviva and it's Aviva that won't accept any suspension mods, too expensive to replace, that doesn't make any sense ! How many Ducati's have Ohlins as standard and the premiums are only fractionally more than a standard bike.

Ill have to cancel my insurance with CN and lose £150 or not declare the extras .......... Again.
