Interesting interview with Domenicali

  1. Why presumably a Monster 1198?

Could the "Scrambler" be another? And a 899 Multi?

  2. Leaked shots of m1198. Isn't there a face lifted diavel in the pipeline too? 1199sf?

  3. Well very interesting to hear Ducati's understanding about the 2 other additional factories in Thailand and Brasilia in particular.

A Scrambler would be interesting, I think the Monster replacement will be a strong 1 considering that Ducati changes/ upgrades most of its models after about 4/5 years on average. If the Monster is on the cards, the M1100 is approaching 5 years old now and seems logical. I'm not sure whether there would be a big enough market for a Streetfighter though if they're upgraded the Monster. Maybe a Sport Classic for the future with an 8/1199 engine and an 899 MTS. I can see the 1199 engine being shoehorned into other bikes just as with the 1198 Diavel, MTS etc.

Ducati may even consider something similar to a 990 twin WSBK that can be run without all the daft restrictions that the current 10/1198 /1199 has had?

  4. Very interesting interview.

I wonder what other high capacity sports niches Ducati is thinking of marketing to with their new products (not just 2014)? Will we see the sports tourer I've been waiting for for years? Maybe we will, what with the German interest in this niche. It all sounds quite exciting, though I am not expecting to be massively excited at Milan. Anything shown there will have been developed some years ago. But the future looks very bright for Ducati and clearly Audi want them to up their game in the reliability department. All positive stuff.
