SUZUKI GSX-R GSXR 750 LIMITED EDITION 1986 with only 513 KM Fully original | eBay GSXR 750 Limited Edition 1986 - Only 523 KM from new - £24.995 Thought it was odd that the front brake lines had been swapped and a non period tank pad fitted if the first owner only did such low mileage, the second owner just collecting. Also the 'standard road version' of the exhaust stood out as wrong as these didn't have a heat shield. Still believe mine is the only one left with the original exhaust, not seen evidence of another on the internet, only seen on the original Suzuki sales info of the time. Thought the wiring looked neat but non standard too so... Checked a bit further - it has KPH clocks, web research shows only 300 of these were made in these colours, all sold into North America (MPH clocks) although a lot came back out for racing. 1000 Yoshi versions were made for Japan in Red / Grey / White Yoshi Colours. Rev counter also should go to 13,000 revs not 11,000. Looks like this is an extensively restored version of the home market KMH Yoshi version - not an ultra low mileage North American Spec one. When buying low mileage investments, be very very careful people
No, but they had a 30,000 mile one in a few months ago saying it was 100% standard - it too had the road pipe on - I told them then, so they know about that detail. I was thinking of going for a look
I don't know the in's and out's of the limited, I only have 11's but 24 fucking thousand pounds! Tell'em they're dreaming. Had a very nice one sell here not long ago for around $13000 with 25000k's on, had been repainted (lovely job) but apart from that original.
I bet the pipe wasn't original There was 2 in the USA last year for $25,000. This shop sold a 30,000+ mile one for £12,000 last year. If this was correct it would be worth circa £20K I think, but it isn't.
Went to see it, paint was not standard, far too crisp a job for Suzuki 1986 Factory. Rear Suzuki sticker was the wrong shape and lacquered in, unlike the original. Seat unit transfers were out of line to what mine are. Plaque on frame was wrong, it had a plaque on the left of the head stock that over lapped the frame and didn't look correct - mine doesn't have a plaque on the left, just a larger one on the right as all the ones I've seen on line have. Told him the clocks were wrong too, showed him pictures of mine - a simple Google confirms this to be fact. He said if it's been restored they have done a fantastic job of it and it has only done 500 odd kilometres, at which point I reminded him the clocks were wrong again They had MPH clocks on the original. I didn't get the feeling he will alter his advert. I explained I went to look at the OW01 Yam they had in, but didn't know as much about them. Asked if it had been checked for the correct engine as a lot of these were swapped for 1000 ExUp engines. He said of course and looked a little miffed. I explained I had seen one go through Bonham's that had a 1000 engine in a couple of years ago - he said yes, they had one in that had the wrong engine so they wont get stung again He then ignored me so I left. He was only a salesman, the boss wasn't there - he had 2 Ducati 50cc bikes in that weren't for sale that looked fab so maybe the boss is a Ducati fan, maybe he is on here It is a big main Honda dealer, looks like they make a good return on exotic bikes as a side line, they had 2 RC30's, an R7, 2 x ZX7RR's, a ZXR750RR and an 888 Ducati - 2 of which were sold at top prices. From what he said they scour Europe for them and import them. Fair play, but I think they got stung on this one...
