Who's going ? Usually there is a Ducati meet (DOC), I haven't managed to find out when and where yet, maybe someone will jump in and advise. Last year there also was a 'Ducati lap', meeting at the Grandstand Sunday morning (Mad Sunday) early doors, if I remember right it was 06.00hrs I will be out out 30th May - 6th June
We are going this year for the first time, arrive late saturday 31/5 and then leave on the 5th. Staying at St Johns footie club.....
Nice one Ozz, guarantee it will not be your last one. If its where I think your staying your not far from a cracking spot to watch. You Tube - 'Gorse Lea Isle of Man TT 2010' I never get fed up watching this clip and when you see it for real you will not be disappointed. Its a mega right hander about a mile before the circuit turns right at Ballacraine traffic lights, turn down the narrow road next to the farm and you can park behind the farm, the farm is on your left as you head towards Ballacraine. The owners do excellent tea, sandwiches and home made cake, plus its on the outside of the circuit so you can move to a different spot. Get there early (at least a hour before the roads close to get a pitch sat on the farm wall.
The DOC meets at Creg-ny-Baa on Mad Sunday (1 June) at 11am; car park behind the pub. Also Steve Price (who lives at Grove Mount, Ramsey and has a fine collection of Ducatis) may invite people to a barbeque at his home 5 June, if you are lucky. There may be other meets as well, e.g. at Port Erin.
I'll miss the TT this year. I am however going over to the island for 9 days over MGP in August. Can't wait.
We are going, heading over on the 24th, will definitely head to some Ducati events. Last time there was a gathering on Port Erin station platform
Brace yourselves, Mr R's 'someones mentioned the TT' monitor has just notified him that theres been a TT thread posted. There will now be a flow of year by year memoirs of his exploits with various details from the ride up to Liverpool in the dark wearing only a pair of socks on his hands to having some 'fun' in a bus shelter outside Douglas with Dirty Gerty from number 30.
Not to mention the tolerences he allowed when building his Bevel's in his shed with nothing but a candle for light and a Swiss army knife.
Load pipes save lives, wait till you hear the Norton on full chat and then ask me that question again.....
Nah loud pipes are not a problem, hell, they don't even have MOT's on the Island except for fare paying passenger vehicles. As for the video clip above, the slow rider did not cause that, that faster rider did for being a twat. It is still a public road last time I checked.
Me and the Mrs are also going to the Classic and the Manx for a change this year. Last years Classic looked great Fun. Manx promises to be good racing. But reading the threads I want to be at the TT also. Downloaded the Manx Radio App so can follow it live.
I'll be going on my new (to me) 1098 Streetfighter with a Streetfightered ZX10, Streetfightered Fazer 8 and two others I'm not sure of. Staying at the football club too, come say hello if you see me.
Cool look out for my 848 Evo Corse with a white 1199 and orange KTM. Arriving around midnight saturday 31st May....
