I have fitted a new rear brake caliper to my (1st generation) Multistrada and after a first attempt with Bilt Hammer wheel cleaner, it looks a lot better than I expected, I’m minded to try and carry out a full rebuild myself. Is it as simple as undoing and removing the two bolts securing the two halves of the casting or is it more complicated ? I have found a supplier for a piston and seal kit but will I need to source anything else ? Thank you in advance. Andy
@Sev, just thought of one more thing, what torque will you use on the bolts ? I’m guessing in the order of 20Nm ? Andy
What state are the fasteners? Do you need to get them replated, or would you replace with titanium/stainless? https://raceboltuk.com/attribute-name/attribute/kit-type/brembo-caliper-pinch-bolt-kit/
The Powerhouse Automotive kit comes with new bolts although I’m guessing nothing fancy. When all is said and done, no-one really takes any notice of the rear caliper. Andy
Use red "Red Rubber" lube (Girling or whatever make you have) on the pistons/seals when reassembling the calipers. Steve R
