So I am getting my 996 ready for the season ahead oil changed, clutch and brake fluid changed, check all the torques on the key components and lube the chain and controls, but I keep looking at my battery and relay installation and I can’t find any pictures for reference, to me it does not look right, can somebody advise if this correct.
Yes that's right, but you can move it over and put next to the battery to give you access to the oil filler.
Battery appears to be shorter than the one I used to have on mine. Relays are held in a rubber holder that has a rubber spigot on it that engages with the back of the battery box.
The relays are not pushed on correctly. You can just see in the picture bottom right of the relays a rubber loop that should be on a spike protruding forward from the battery box I used a battery from my 1098 on my 748 it fitted as yours is with the back of the battery facing out because the terminals are the opposite way to the original wet battery
Thank you all for the feedback, to me it just did not look right, but now I have confirmation my OCD can relax, could somebody show a picture for reference thank you
The support tray, underneath the battery is too far to the left. It should sit square under that battery. Shift it to the right and then the small arm that the relay holder slips over will sit next to the battery. You can then move the relay holder over, fit over the plastic clip and press it in to the hole you can see to left of the battery.
Looks much better now thank you all, now just need to get another rubber relay holder as mine was split.
