New car due today, already 3 weeks overdue, and just had call saying the mil came on so they are waiting recovery back to dealer. Doesn't bode well for 3 years of workhorse motoring now, does it
Apparently there was a 'computer bit' that needed to be sorted. Redelivery Monday.., Not properly PDI'd then...wonder what else they missed
aw goat. here i am on the wrong side of the argument again. :smileys: most warranty issues in my experience will happen in the first few months. if you look at the complexity and access issues on your bike you can x's it by 10 on your car. its totally impossible to check every item during a PDI. i get your frustration tho over the delay in delivery exasperated by this minor build fault
Be interesting to see how many miles when it reaches me are in it. I suspect it wasn't ready, and am being fobbed off. But not going direct, used a broker and they just want to take admin fees... XC60 btw, which is about the same size as the old X5 and new X3. More than big enough for what I need and not German
Either as I've said above, or they didn't do a full wake up of all eCUs would be second guess. 3rd guess would be inexperienced old fella delivering didn't know the warning triangle on the dash was a proximity alert (don't laugh, one of my guys insisted his Merc had intermittent fault, and refused to accept it could be that when I explained how it works. It was that !)
possible. i would be surprised if it got out the door without doing a proxi alghnement but, you never know. if you look at your warranty (things my have changed since i left the dealerships) but electrical issues used to be the shortest part of your warranty. the thinking being if something wasn't assemble right it would be one of the first faults to manifest itself. which with experience i would agree. still a total PITA tho.
Took 2 minutes for me to figure out how to wake up the Golf and disengage the electronic handbrake and get the thing to bloody move!... I must say though, when you consider the complexities of the Hybrid system, the DSG gearbox, and all the clever electronics, it has been absolutely faultless for 11,000 miles...
