  2. With a pinch of salt, YMMV:

I bought an '05 999S, black, w/ ~2,250 miles and a small amount of "garage damage" for about $8,000. In some ways I feel that I probably overpaid a small amount, on the other hand, the mechanicals of the bike were as-new and it was just out of a major service + had new tires (And black Mk2 999S' are damned hard to find).

Websites as "Bring a Trailer" have some somewhat recent sales of '04 999S bikes (red, 10K miles, $6K, another red, 3K miles, $7.7K)

For an original (No chinese fairings, everything is as it left the factory) Mk.1 999S with 20-25K mileage I'd start at about $4,500.
If it's riding on new tires, and has had a major service/ truly "needs nothing", $5,500.
Go-fast goodies can swing prices, not all slipper clutches are equal (Some are $500, some are $4,000). If you have a lot of nice parts on there, an asking price of around $6,500 might be fair. Consider that any "rare and unusual" parts will probably sell for more parted out, with the "standard" items being re-fit to the bike.

If it's a track bike, that is highly unlikely to do any favors to the price.

    TL;DR: "I'm a motivated seller" - $4500-5000, "Fair market value" - $5750-6250, "My wife made me list it" - $6750-8000.

*** Personal opinion, nothing more, or less. I only know the very small amount of information provided, and as with many bikes, the details can swing pricing figures substantially.
