  1. Hi thought I'd shout out after buying a Monster 695 Last Friday. Such fun, or at least would be if I could ride it yet :frown:.

So far has been the proverbial Italian prima-donna by completely packing up 5 miles away from where I bought her. RAC bloke reckoned the fuel pump had packed in. After phoning the local Ducati garage for a price and nearly passing out, decided to get the electrical tools out and fault find. Thank heavens it turned out just to be the earth lead going to the pump had a break somewhere in it. Quick re-wire and fixed.

Fitted the flange back in the fuel tank and that started to pee out with fuel. WTF, really starting to develop a bit of a love/hate relationship! Bought a new O ring and fitted that, added fuel and it leaked even worse! Put it down to a warped tank as it looks as though it's expanded a little anyway. Started to panic that it was now turning into a new tank ?!?!

A bit of research, found a rubber gasket sealant that was fuel resistant. Used it along with the O-Ring and now have a lovely sealed, back together, Ducati.

You'd thing I'd now be able to ride it, but oh no... as I only took my test on a 125 (saved the DAS money to be able to purchase a Duc) I need to have a restriction kit fitted so I can ride it legally. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for the restriction kit to arrive and then be fitted and I can be on my merry way.

I'm now hoping that she's had her tantrum and is going to behave like a good girl, and give me endless joy riding her out

BTW - The perfect addition to any tool kit is ThreeBond 1184 Liquid Gasket Sealant (used to be 1194 and before that 1104) This saved me an absolute fortune.

  8. Restrictor fitted, finally. I'm on the road! Gotta love her. Monster has such nice low end torque that it still feels nippy  so i'm happy.
