Evening, Had a keyless cap fitted last weekend and it don't work! It is meant to lock after you turn the ignition off after 60 seconds unless opened then the count starts again. I have tried it this way, I have walked out of range with the key, I have tried it with the ignition and and bike running. According to the dealer it is just one wire connection/plug and play type deal and does not need to be computer activated at the dealership. Mkle at Metropolis in Barnet reckons it is just a dud and will get another ordered in and fitted and I am in no doubt he will as his service has been brilliant. Only reason for my post is to see if anyone has had similar issues and worked out what was wrong. Are we missing something obvious? It does not come with any fancy manual and instruction book, just whip off old one, connect up and replace and should work.
I have had one on my Multi since May last year n had no issues, works everytime could be a one off although I know others have had some problems.
Mine on my Mutley 1200 sticks some times (3 yrs old). It is only 'unlocked for the first 10 seconds after you switch the bike off. The spring on the cap is quite strong so I push down on the fuel cap when switching off so its not trying to push against the lock tab. Hasn't failed completely yet! Make sure you have an allen key to undo the cap if it does stick/fail
