It failed mot last week needs a bit of welding that’s all nothing serious not structural. Quoted £250 to get sills welded but selling without test Had €1000 spent on the aircon in Slovenia this summer so that’s like new, these were famous for corrosion but this one is fine underneath apart from this welding that will be done after Christmas Full service history, on Slovene plates at the moment but will come with uk plates on Some filler on wheelarches inside easy to rattle can over which I hopefully will do In summary a great car with nearly new winter tyres on 4x4 good internal condition 145,000 miles circa
It doesn’t have the step on it and has probably a few small battle scars but hey I’ll get some pictures tomorrow any interest give me a message I’ll be driving it tomorrow so any other issues I’ll find them Car will be at mine in Leeds or bradford in storage I’ll be driving it on Slovene plates as it’s fully legal on those the car is insured and tested to use in uk for another 4 months or so Car is right hand drive uk car
where is the welding required? if its on the rear axil tie rod mountings kia are doing it under warranty.
I know it had a recall fella but it was in Slovenia and my dad didn’t take it or couldn’t take it, it’s on a ramp at my mates garage and no evidence of it needing welding in any structural area basically the mot man clobbered it with a hammer until it made a hole my mate questioned why it failed but anyway he now has to weld the sills I think, but it will be done soon but if a freebie is available via Kia it’s a bonus
Cheers it’s a lovely motor I’d keep it but for my sins I’m committed to something else I drove 600 odd miles in it in Italy and Slovenia loved it no idea on price but if someone on here wants I’ll negotiate
if faulty (corroded or detached) you would like to think to. its an easy check and fairly quick welding job.
Ok I drove the car a bit today and yes drives well I’d say the clutch has seen its best but it does work fine at the moment no idea if it will last long term but factor in it might need one sooner rather than later, internally it’s in good nick but needs a valet which I might get done or rather do myself. External condition pretty good but large dent front nearside above wheel arch seen in photo and few scratches here and there. All electrics work car failed mot on just a bit of welding to sills required, timing chain sounds ok that’s as much as I can say on that. Car sold with no mot at the moment if I get it tested I’ll adjust price
