Lambda sensores post ECU mapping

  1. I assume Chris took them off, ie ignore hem, when he tuned my bike (and I'll call him Mon and ask) but just wondered what peolpe did with theirs? 848 Evo I belive has 2 sensors, can I just remove the plugs and get blanking bolts and fit? What about the butterfly set up on the sides which I assume works the flapper valve in the limk pipes? Can I leave off?

Just wondering what others have done. i've taken it off to have a go at polishing them and tbh could do without the rear sensor as getting in the hole in he swingarm is a pain in the harris!

  2. Sensores...ffs!!

  3. I've an 1198 with the DP ECU. I have both Lambdas blanked off and have completely removed the EXBV motor. There are no MIL's on the dash. If you have the stock ECU then it is a simple job to disable both the Lambdas and the EXBV but it requires an ECU flash.

  4. Thx, was chatting to Wilf today and he said should be simple thing to remove and Chris will have tirned them off but I Never asked about the motor. Sounds like take it all off then....Chris said he'd disabled something but tbh didn have a clue what he was talking about lol

  5. Just pull the plug off the back of the EXBV motor. If you get no MIL then it's disabled :upyeah:

  6. Assume we are talking about this

  7. This is the connector

It's a bit of a twat to separate and unbolting the motor makes it easier.

  8. Brill ta, saves me a big search! Do the sensors go into there too? The wires just seem to disappear into the motor area somewhere...

  9. The 4 way superseal connector for the Lambdas hides themselves away in the void behind the EXBV motor (Where D is pointing to)

Don't forget to put some insulating tape or shrink wrap over the connectors to protect them

  10. Great. i'll disconnect and see if anything comes up on dash then remove the lot! Now for ebay for the bolts.

  11. Just checked the parts catalogue and the EVO does have 2 lambdas

  12. Yep, the the back one is in a ridiculous place.

assume 18x1.5mm bolt? Ebay seems full of those

  13. I see you've got them off the bike. An ideal time to get rid. Yes the blanks are 18mm x 1.5

  14. 2 quick questions; if the flapper isn't disabled, when would the light appear on the dash - start up? Only when riding? On tickover? ? And what is the default open position of the valve, assuming I need to lockwire it open or something

  15. I had to put a bolt in to keep mine open - default is shut

light appeared all the time until Wilf disabled it

  16. So which way is open? Turned to the left or right as you look at it?

  17. when I said 'I' what I meant was 'Vince down the road'

    hope that helps :running:

  18. I can take the can off and shine a torch dwn and look but tbh being a bit lazy ;-)

any chance of a pic of yours :-D

  19. If you disconnect the cables and leave the spring on the EXBV pulley then that is the fully open position. So the default position is fully open.

I just left mine like that.

If the EXBV hasn't been connected in the ECU then you will have a permanent MIL on the dash.

  20. its a bit chilly can it wait?
