I think I just beat my record... 520 EUR, I did 145 in a 100 (kmph).... big oopsie. At least no points or that kinda bs here in NL, just a big slap on the wrist.
Thats great! Here in the UK you would probably be banned, potentially imprisoned too for "Dangerous driving". "Excessive speeding/Band C: This is the most serious speeding office. You have been caught exceeding the speed limit by a considerable amount and may face a fine of 125-175% of your weekly income, along with six penalty points or a driving ban. Depending on the severity of the offence, it may result in a dangerous driving charge that can result in imprisonment."
You need to move to Switzerland https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...d-speeding-fine-record-lausanne-b2806341.html
I have a few issues with this when I lived there. My solicitor was able to delay the proceedings for a long while. Then -unfortunately & unexpectedly- work transferred me to the USA. So I paid the fine and had to serve my loss of driving privileges in Switzerland, whilst in Colorado...
I genuinely avoid the entire country of Switzerland when touring around the EU on the bike, simply because of the above... I've heard so many horror stories.
Switzerland is such a nice country though. I would visit it happily but just not by car or motorcycle ️. That's probably what they want though!
I got a speeding ticket on my bicycle in Zurich……. quite proud of that really. My criminal activities hit a new level later with the garbage police, but the worst indiscretion by far was with the apartment block laundry lady
My dad got a ticket in Switzerland in 1973. He left the country and never returned. He is dead now so it’s too late. Every cloud
Oddly, the opposite, they don't want anyone going into Switzerland! It clearly works, their roads are barren and slow. But indeed, it is an amazing country with beautiful sceney, just not to be enjoyed with speed accessible at the twist of a wrist.
