Genuine early Laverda Jota. Matching numbers bike manufactured in 1976 and sold new by John Blanchard of Eltham (Slater brothers London dealer) in 1977. If you don’t know how the Jota came about, do read up on them. It is an interesting bit of motorcycling history where a small English importer of a small Italian manufacturer developed a bike that made the onslaught of new Japanese superbikes look pretty tame, on the track and the road, creating a legend in the process. These early bikes are quite special and as rare as any SP / SPS Ducati. I have loved owning this bike for the last 20 odd years, and now reluctantly have decided to put it up for sale, as it is no longer getting the use it deserves, and my life has taken a direction where that is not likely to change. Runs and rides really nicely. Every ride is an event, for sure! Registered as a historic vehicle with DVLA (no MoT needed and £0 road tax). It is the “wrong” colour for the year, but the “right” colour for the icon. Not a rivet counter’s bike, but a usable classic with all of the visual, audio and visceral impact that you can handle! I have not used it for a few years now, and before that only holidays and high days, but everything is in good order and with a new battery it will start and run well, as it always has.
