Lazy starting

  1. End of the summer season my ST was struggling to start on occasions when i had left it without giving it a long run for more than a week. I had to bump start it a couple times which began to worry me. I thought it was the battery but after some research on the web and testing on the bike this winter I have modified the starter cables to larger diameter cables. The ST4 now turns over faster than ever before and starts a treat. I highly recommend this mod if you are having issues with lazy starting. I thought I had a dead battery but turns out the cable mod seems to have resolved the problem without needing a new battery.

  2. Thats a good mod, its the first thing i done on my old ST2 98 model. Although the later models silver frame, were better starters, I also upgraded the starter relay and regulator.

  3. What parts did you use to upgrade the relay and regulator? I'm intregued.
