There's a very recent ride review of the new DVT from the Bristol branch on You Tube. Decent review but it does state on there that the bike could only return 30mpg across the test. Says that for touring it ain't great. Ok, some "spirited riding" but for touring that does not sound very prolific. If that is so it is less than my 3 litre petrol sporty car that manages 45mpg! Thought this model was going to be an improvement on the last one?
Our 1.4 corsa struggles to get 34mpg and it's nowhere near as fun as my mutley. Don't complain [emoji3]
the bike is too new to check for the mpg , before first service he big bore twins burns a lot fuel. So that's normal you will expect 40 mpg or more in the future. Depends how they are riding it as well.
What 3L sports car do you drive? My R32 (3200cc) V6 only manages about 14mpg if spirited driving is involved. At best 25mpg when forced to do 50mph on cruise control down the M3 for 25miles.
Not a sports car a "sporty" car. It's a 5 series BMW with 3lt petrol engine - not the "M5" but the next model under it in terms of performance. At work so not sure exactly what engine spec it is but I do get 45 miles per gallon most days. If I'm pegging it obviously that drops a fair bit but the car weighs a lot more than a MTS. I don't know why I just expected more per gallon than the 30 quoted for the mutley. My current K1600 is nearing 45 mpg too and that's about 80kg heavier.
I'm sure it will do 40+ on a run no problem. I'm sure most bikes drop to 30 when they're being tested
