Right the time has come to get a tracker fitted. I've watched one too many videos online of bikes being lifted in broad daylight infront of a bunch of useless bell ends who stand and do nothing. Today's example was an R1 on no limits fb group @royalwithcream i know you've seen it. So tell me, what are you running and what is considered the best. I swear to god if I catch one of these shit heads I will bath in their blood. I don't care what they might have, I'll bite their nose off if I have to lol. I'd sooner run them off of my bike and destroy it than let them get away with it.
I run RoadAngel BikeTrac (although they have split from RoadAngel and running it as a separate company). Thankfully not had to use it but the two times it's gone off accidentally they've been on the phone to me within minutes. Got some tyres fit last week and the tyre fitter wheeled it 10 yards and my phone was ringing. Only thing I'd like is an official app rather than their mobile website (although the mobile website works perfectly and I've bookmarked the page). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
App in development chaps soon to be rolled out to beta test - I will be a tester. Had BikeTrac for 5 years and the only issue is the sensitivity of the unit on my 1098R. Keeps telling Carole I've fallen off when I haven't. Matter of talking to Admin and getting it turned down a notch. Fitted to 3 bikes in the family. Andy
Me too, but realistically I don't even check up on the bike. I trust it now, it'll let me know if it moves. Here's how the web page works on mobile though. Remembers login etc... I've stripped it of identifying parts... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So if the bike moves does it notify you and then you can track its movements That's what I'm after really....
Bike moves, I get a text & email and I then get a phone call from the office at BikeTrac asking if the bike is OK. I can log onto the website and track if I wish. Biketrac also uses an RF locator for when the unit has no GPS signal (think shipping container). I do believe police traffic cars have the RF locator equipment in the car and when Biketrac activate it, that then alerts nearby cars (like the movement detector bleep thing in Aliens). Sounds good, do you have a link for the one you've got mate? I've been googling and there seems to be loads!
Just go get yourself a new 959 and they'll give you one [emoji106] BikeTrac Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh and it records journey history (with speeds if you wish). Handy for business mileage (and showing my colleague how fast I took him pillion on way to a company car track day). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a tracker fitted on my 2012 panigale as per the insurance requirements, trouble is nearly every time I went into the garage I kept forgetting to disable it or switch it off or whatever you used to have to do, ive forgot now as I didn't have the pani long, even if I only moved it a couple of feet to get stuff in the garage or to clean it etc, then I got the obligatory texts asking if I knew the bike had been moved and I had to ring up and explain, the must have been fecking sick of me :Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased:. I agree they are a great product unless you're a useless cnut like me :Bag:
You can now set a zone around your house. Anything within 100yards of my garage, doesn't set it off. Mines also wired up to ignition so with the bike on, all is well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not sure if this is correct but my uncle who has been the victim of serial quad bike thefts had biketrac fitted to his last quad. It was stolen but never alerted anyone. The police said it was possible the thieves had connected a 24v battery to the bikes battery inorder to fry all the electrics including any anti theft device.
Having fit my own (changed bikes), it's wired through a built in relay. Posi, Negi and trigger wires. It also has its own built in battery that charges off the bike's. I also think they list most of their products as dual voltage (12v & 24v) so must have some built in protection (although maybe they don't bother with BikeTrac as will only be 12v).
I had one on a HP4 And it told my other half that I'd crashed when all I'd done was to go about 190mph when I was in Germany. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I havent got any tracking device but have often considered it. This looks like an interesting bit of kit, but it seems its effectiveness depends on how many other people have it enabled. Anyone use this ?? Thoughts?? The TrackR UK The TrackR-UK Retailers of the TrackR Devices FREE P&P Stuart
