Life In The Old Girl Yet

  1. After getting as much time as possible on my 999 recently, I was presently surprised on how nice the 996 is to ride.

    The seating position is 'just right' on the 996 as I have always found the 999 a little 'long' if that makes any sense.
    13 years old and still turns heads :)

  3. When I demoed a 999 in, God, I don't know, 2005? I also had a blat on a 916 or 996 - don't really remember. But I do remember how uncomfortable it felt and that I asked myself - how did I do 50'000 kms on one of these? Now have had the 999 for the past 8 years and still think what a fine bike it is.

  8. I just wish my 999 had a similar seating position, as I feel a little lost on the 999 as it has such a long seat

  11. Haha, no no, I'm 5' 10 :) I find the seating position on the 996 better as I can feel the back of the bike !! It's like sitting in a large spoon.. Where as the 999 seatfeels long
